Overview
Haizheng Li received his Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Colorado–Boulder and joined the Georgia Tech School of Economics faculty in 1997. He was promoted to Associate Professor in 2004 and to Professor in 2010.
His research specializes in applied econometrics, labor economics, and the Chinese economy. He has published extensively in journals, books, and technical reports, and has received numerous research grants from national and international agencies. He has also served as a consultant to the World Bank and as a special research fellow at several institutes. In addition, he is a member of the Advisory Board of China Economic Review and an executive guest editor, and served as President of the Chinese Economists Society.
At Georgia Tech, Dr. Li is currently Interim Chair of the School of Economics. He has also served as Associate Chair, Director of Information and Technology, Chair of the Review, Promotion and Tenure (RPT) Committee in both the Ivan Allen College and the School of Economics, Institute RPT Committee Representative, Academic Senate and General Faculty Assembly Representative at the Institute, and Co-Director of the Georgia Tech–Shanghai Summer Program.
Dr. Li’s research focuses on human capital—its accumulation, measurement, and labor market effects. He teaches courses in econometrics, economic forecasting, labor economics, and microeconomics.
